During your time in the M.S. in Business-Sport Leadership program, you embark on a capstone project that includes two unique learning experiences. Your first experience is a remote consulting project with an international organization during which you learn how to apply your business theory to solve real-world problems and produce quality deliverables.
In "City Challenge," our signature second experience, you embark on an intensive week-long international adventure to gain hands-on experience working with an organization. Using all that you’ve learned, you design, propose, and deliver an actionable strategy that outlines a solution to a current challenge your client faces.

The sport leadership track of our master’s in business program builds a well-rounded education through both theory and practice. Our curriculum integrates a variety of learning opportunities, including workshops, group projects and presentations, intended to solidify skills like strategic planning, problem-solving and effective communication through practical application.

Linfield proudly offers the M.S. in Business Graduate Fellowship, which awards up to $5,000 in scholarships to eligible business students and helps lower the cost of their degrees. To be considered for this scholarship opportunity, students must submit an application and a fellowship statement detailing their academic and professional interests, strengths, and more.
Please apply for admission to the graduate business program by April 15 for priority consideration. However, if you apply for acceptance after this deadline, our admissions committee will still consider your application.
Master’s in sport leadership program curriculum
The curriculum for Linfield’s M.S. in Business-Sport Leadership track program matches the pace of this dynamic field by taking an interdisciplinary approach and dividing your 40 credits of coursework into three segments: the common core business classes, the specialized sport leadership courses and the workshop courses.

Business and sports management courses The core business classes cover a range of topics to help you grow as a well-rounded professional. Explore personal and organizational aspects of management, the tenets of ethical leadership, and how to enhance the collective experience and efficacy of diverse teams. Additionally, you study fundamental assessment techniques and critical key performance metrics, which empower you to assess overall business performance.
In your specialized sport leadership classes, you dive deeper into relevant business disciplines and their relation to the sports industry. From analyzing sales and marketing trends and strategies to examining sports law topics like contract law and labor relations, you build a highly focused expertise to navigate this growing field.
